Welcome to YANA Blue Light Peer Mentoring
Mental Health Care, Reimagined
YANA Blue Light Peer Mentoring is a world unto itself.
Here, our talented professionals support you from the moment you place your head above the parapet and ask for help to start your mental health journey to recovery.
A peer mentor scheme for those Emergency Service Workers, who have suffered trauma and has reared its 'ugly head' years down the line.
It is designed at helping those accept their reaction is only HUMAN and not to feel alone in this fight.
Our intention is to provide that 1-2-1 approach, for an initial 8 week period, whereby the mentor/friend will be able to relate to the individual's needs in a non clinical environment.
This service is a support network of volunteers, who have been in the same or similar position, whilst working within the emergency services and have come out the 'other side'.

The volunteers' are committed to this being a confidential and honest process. They are not trained counsellors, but they are human and at a different stage of their own MH journey.
This is not a medical diagnosis platform, staff are not medically trained, so any opinions should not be acted upon without first speaking to a medically trained professional.
There will NEVER be a financial cost to those Emergency Service personnel.
We will continue to look at innovative ways to support both Emergency Workers and their families.

Supporting You
1-2-1
Our staff are YOU, but at a different stage of their personal journey to wellbeing.
They are amazingly strong individuals', who are willing to share their knowledge, vulnerabilities and outcomes to help others get to the point of clarity and re-taking a level of control.

Support via Teams
At YANA Blue Light Peer Mentoring, at a time of vulnerability, we understand that not everyone is happy meeting in person.
We've made it easier to build a rapport with our members using a 3 step process;
1) Phone support
2) Microsoft Teams (If all parties are in agreement)
3) In person support (If all parties are in agreement)

Group Therapy
This is an area that we will be progressing in the future, but at this time we only provide the 1-2-1 approach.

Coping strategies
We recognise that medication reduces a lot of the symptoms. Here at BLPM we have members trained in regulating those emotions and providing coping strategies to assist you on your journey to wellness.

Our Values
Embracing you as best we can.
At YANA Blue Light Peer Mentoring, we never lose sight of the fact that everyone who comes to us are unique individuals, deserving of respect, dignity and compassion. We encourage our 'brothers and sisters' to be active participants in the process, and we seriously consider their input and feedback at every stage. When you come to us, we'll get to know and appreciate you as part of our family, and do our utmost to help both you and your family on this journey.
